St Anthony's Church
St. Anthony's Church is one of the most visited places in Sri Lanka. On weekends, Tuesdays and major festivals, the church is visited by devotees from different parts of the world, this place is believed to work miracles. The church was built many years ago as a very small mud structure and was enlarged in 1806.
Location: The church is located in Kochikade.
Highlights: The main altar houses the statue of Saint Anthony brought from Goa in a safe bulletproof glass vase. Tuesdays are considered very special days here and there are special poojas and blessing services in Tamil, English and Sinhala throughout the day. Tamil and Sinhala masses are held in the church on weekdays and Tamil, English and Sinhala masses are held in the church on weekends.
Timings: Open all day.
